SBGames – Brazilian Symposium on Games and Digital Entertainment is the main and pioneering event in Games and Digital Entertainment in Brazil. It is supported annually by the Special Commission for Games and Digital Entertainment (CEJOGOS) of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC).
SBGames is the largest academic event in Latin America in the area of Games and Digital Entertainment. The event brings together teachers, researchers, students and businesspeople who consider games as an object of investigation and a product of development. Every year, around a thousand participants are received from different regions of Brazil and countries such as Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, the United States, England, Portugal, among others. In addition to Rio Grande, the venue for the event in 2023, in recent years SBGames has been held in Natal (2022), Gramado (online, 2021), Porto de Galinhas (online, 2020), Rio de Janeiro (2019) Foz do Iguaçu ( 2018), Curitiba (2017), São Paulo (2016), Teresina (2015) and Porto Alegre (2014), in a demonstration of the great expansion, reach and diversification of our symposium.
In addition to the 6 (six) scientific tracks with their various technical sessions that cover the main related areas, SBGames has 10 more activities that include: Book presentation, Tutorials; Thesis and Dissertation Competition; Invited lectures; Games Festival; Arts Festival; Teaching Forum; Electronic Sports Forum; JEDI – Games, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; MAGIC – games in Graduation and basic education and, Post Mortem.
The 22nd edition of SBGames will be in person and is being organized by FURG – Federal University of Rio Grande (RS).
