CTDGames 2020 – Concurso de Teses e Dissertações do SBGames 2020
The CTDGames invites researchers who have completed master’s degree or doctoral thesis related to games and digital entertainment to submit papers. The goals of CTDGames 2020 are to disseminate and award the best MSc dissertations, and DSc thesis concluded from January to December 2019 related to games and digital entertainment.
The CTDGames is part of XIX SBGames the largest and most important event for games and digital entertainment in Latin America. Realized by the SBC, the event is attended by scientists, artists, designers, teachers and students from colleges, universities, research centers and the game industry.
This year SBGames will be a virtual conference that will happen between November 07 and 10.
Submission Instructions
Short papers submitted to CTDGames must have 4 pages, including text, figures, tables, references, acknowledgments, etc. Some additional aspects must be observed:
- Submissions must be made using the JEMS system;
- Short papers may be written in English or Portuguese (in this case, abstracts and titles in English and Portuguese must be included);
- The format must follow the IEEE template (Latex | Word);
- Each submission must include the following documents:
- Short paper;
- Full text of thesis or dissertation;
- Scanned copy of the degree or document showing that the thesis or dissertation was defended and approved in 2019.
The full text of the thesis or dissertation will serve as a source of reference for the evaluators to verify the results of the work. The short paper should highlight the contributions, originality and potential impact on society. The organization of the short paper must include title of the paper, author, institution in which it was approved, advisor and co-advisors respective affiliations and the text itself. It is recommended that the text highlights the motivation of the work, the relevance of the theme and the main research challenges addressed; the objectives; the contributions; and the relevant results obtained.
The authors are requested to indicate by-products of the work (if applicable): patents, registered programs and public/free domain programs with URL; paper published or accepted for publication with data on the relevance of the publication vehicles; and other elements that allow qualifying the work for CTDGames. The short paper may make references to the text of the thesis or dissertation.
Reviewing Process
CTDGames will have two phases: in the first phase, which will be eliminatory, a set of submissions will be selected and in the second phase, the selected submissions will be presented and judged during the SBGames 2020.
Camera-Ready Submissions
It is necessary to send a Copyright document from SBC in the camera-ready submission for publication in the CTDGames. The document must be submitted through JEMS systems, filled out with information related to the workshop, chair(s), paper title and authors.
Awards
Up to six papers will be awarded in the contest: the best papers about MSc dissertations and the best papers about DSc thesis
